THE 180 GOD
2 Corinthians 4:6
" It is God who said 'Let light shine out of darkness,' that has shone
into our hearts to enlighten them with knowledge of God's glory, the glory on
the face of Christ.
As I
was reading this verse the Holy Spirit or Spirit led realization just hit me.
God is a God of extremes. He is unafraid of the worst possible scenario because
not only is He able to turn it completely around but this is how He reminds us
that He is the God of the seemingly impossible.
When
you really think about it, who would think to call light something so bright
out of something completely consumed with darkness? Beyond God calling Light
out Darkness reflecting the creative and imaginative ability of God, I really
think it is a show of God’s dominance over every situation.
"There
is nothing that is created that was not created through Him"
When as
Children of God we panic and get scared of how bad things and situations in our
lives have gotten and we start running helter skelter wondering why God isn't
on a panic trip with us, His answer is "Be still and know that I am
God." (Psalm 46:10)
This one verse and sentence is valid for so many situations throughout our walk with God but in this case, God is saying "Be still and remember that I am the God that called light out of darkness."
I am
able to do and undo because nothing supersedes me and nothing is impossible
with me. Crazy! This right here is the very definition of mind blowing
and I think we often forget just how powerful and able God is.
Sometimes
we get sooo hung up on how bad things are or are getting and we start trying to
explain the gravity of a situation to a God who defies gravity.
Then we
turn around and wonder why God is not moved. He can't be. While He has
compassion on us and feels our every pain and hurt, even more than we do; He is
unmoved by the situation because once He is involved, there is only one
expected end.
And I’m
so sure God gets exasperated with us sometimes and wishes that we would just
remember who He is and be still. I can just picture Him saying, I lay the
Foundations of the earth, set the stars in their place, separated darkness from
the light and hold everything in its place, a little faith Child.
He is
still the same God that causes ALL things to work together for the good of
those who love Him. We can believe God when He says such to us because He
exalts his word above every name we call Him (Psalm 138:2). For ALL (not some)
to work together unto your good, it means as Christians we can’t afford to be
situationally driven.
We do
not look at our lives through singular lens, we need to borrow God’s lens
through the ministry of the Holy Spirit to get that panoramic 360 view. Better
yet we need to just trust God and believe He knows exactly what He is doing.
Afterall, He has been doing this for a very long time, exchanging our ashes for
His beauty and causing good to come out of every ugly situation.
So
here's some encouragement courtesy of the Holy Spirit to any one belonging to
God dealing with the really ugly scenarios of life. “I am the God who calls
darkness out of light. Be still and remember that I am God."
